| On 18 October 2006, Kannaltec Berhad acquired Obnet Sdn Bhd – a company granted a 20-year concession by the Selangor State Government to design, supply, install, operate and maintain a broadband network infrastructure for government offices in Selangor. |

The creation of SelNet was to provide a seamless and borderless electronic government for the State, which sets the next level of ICT transformation once the state offices and agencies are connected statewide. The Selangor State Government can now perform transactions, administrative tasks and communications more efficiently and effectively with the completion of the core network of the Selangor Broadband infrastructure (SelNet). Completed in record time in just five months, SelNet’s core network serves as a secured high-speed broadband network infrastructure that connects all key state government departments, district offices and municipal authorities. |

| SelNet was designed with a 3-in-1 capability to host Intranet, Extranet and Internet Access, which is the key technology strength to meet the State Government’s operational requirements. SelNet was built on Metro Ethernet (or Metro-E) Technology Access which allows seamless integration and migration of existing Local Area Networks into Intranet and Extranet. Existing servers and applications within SelNet need no customisation and now have higher bandwidth for improved performance. |

| The Selangor State Government now deploys applications that utilizes data, voice, video and images over SelNet. The core SelNet network infrastructure was built to enable the state government’s offices to be connected with higher bandwidth between 6MB to 10MB. This resulted in a more flexible network that is capable of supporting data, voice, and video applications. It also enables faster and larger amount of data exchange between the Selangor State departments, which in return moves the operations to be more efficient. |
